A Year of Seniors, Fantasy Sessions, and My Busiest Season Yet

As a Lancaster PA senior picture photographer and fantasy portrait photographer, 2025 was my busiest year ever . From creative senior sessions in creeks and flower fields to magical fantasy character shoots, this year brought more variety, growth, and storytelling than I ever expected. While I planned to take on less sessions than previous years due to jumping into homeschooling with my oldest son, the year had other plans.

It all began with an unexpected elopement on New Year’s Day.

On the afternoon of January 1st, I received a message from a bride whose photographer canceled just two hours before her ceremony. I checked with my husband's schedule, grabbed my gear, drove straight to her location, and photographed her elopement. While I don't generally offer wedding photography, I will occasionally consider elopements or small weddings. I was incredibly thankful I could step in and capture this beautiful love story.

18 Senior Picture Sessions

Senior pictures were the heart of my year. As a Lancaster PA senior picture photographer, I loved creating fun, personality-filled portraits for Class of 2025 and Class of 2026 seniors. This year included creek sessions, flower field sessions, and downtown locations like Lititz and Lancaster. These sessions will always be one of my favorite session types.

Class of 2026 Senior Rep Team

My senior rep creek session was one for the books. My Class of 2026 senior rep team is a group of FIVE amazing local seniors, and this session kicked off our time together. After a period of heavy rain, the water was higher and faster than usual, which made for bold, adventurous portraits and so many genuine moments. This session was full of movement, laughter, and the connection I love bringing into senior pictures. It was an amazing way to meet the team, and I'm so thankful for each one of my senior reps.

Taylor Swift Eras Inspired Session

One of my favorite creative senior shoots this year was my Taylor Swift Eras inspired session at Country Joy Flowers. We blended Lover pastels, Reputation inspired styling, and a lavender field that felt straight out of Midnights. This session is perfect inspiration for seniors looking for creative senior pictures with a fun, editorial twist.

4 Fantasy Sessions

2025 was the year I stepped deeper into fantasy photography, and it has quickly become one of my favorite parts of my job. I started branching into fantasy photography in 2024 and it's continued to be something I love to photograph. Sessions inspired by fantasy worlds, soft magic, and dramatic character design allow for so much fun and wonder. These sessions let clients step fully into a character and bring their imagination to life. It combines my love of reading with my love of photography.

9 Mini Sessions

I offered spring, summer, and fall mini sessions, which were perfect for seniors wanting quick senior picture sessions, families needing updated photos, and clients looking for a shorter portrait experience.

20K Instagram Follower Celebration Session for Léa

Another highlight was photographing Léa to celebrate her reaching 20,000 followers on Instagram. It was a pleasure to meet her and follow along on her journey. I love photographing sessions that celebrate personal achievements, whether it is growth in a business, a creative win, or any milestone worth remembering.

Family Paint Session

One of the most joyful and creative shoots of the year. Messy, colorful, and full of energy. I highly recommend doing this for family photos.

Couples Session

A romantic, love filled session made even more special because it was with two of my closest friends.

Extended Family Session

3 different generations and multiple families with lots of personality and love. I don’t normally offer extended family sessions, but this family has a connection to my work with the East Pete Events team, so I was willing to make an exception for this one.

2 Headshot Sessions

Updated headshots for two local professionals.

A fun crossover of being both photographer and proud mom on the sidelines.

5 East Pete Events

I sponsored and photographed five community events in East Petersburg this year:
• Chicken BBQ
• Movie in the Park and Fireworks Night
• East Pete Days Carnival, Parade, and 5K
• Pumpkin Fest
• Santa in the Park

Joy Mastermind Retreat

I also attended and did some photos for the Joy Mastermind Retreat, capturing both individual photos of attendees and photos of the retreat. This retreat was a highlight of my year as a business owner. It was a few days of connection, introspection, and creativity.

Looking Back at 2025

This year made something really clear. I love being a Lancaster PA senior picture photographer, and I love being a fantasy and cosplay photographer just as much. Photographing seniors during this important season of life brings me so much joy, and building magical, character driven portraits feels like the perfect creative balance.
