Aubrey’s senior picture session took place on a beautiful late October evening at Historic Shady Lane in Manchester, PA. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect; it was warm with a touch of fall crispness and had beautiful golden light.

Historic Shady Lane is a stunning York County photo location. In fact, it is now one of my favorite senior picture session locations in Central PA. This gorgeous venue features multiple backdrops for photos, including the bandstand with its whitewashed pillars, ivy, and stone steps, the elegant mansion, and the greenhouse terrace with chandeliers that provide beautiful background glow. There’s also plenty of open space and wooded areas across the property, giving us endless options for portraits. Since Historic Shady Lane is first and foremost a wedding venue, they do require advance booking and a $79.50 photography fee. Since weddings take priority on weekends, I recommend scheduling your session on a weekday as they don’t accept portrait sessions if a wedding is booked.

As one of my Class of 2026 Senior Reps, you might recognize Aubrey from some previous sessions this past year, including my senior rep team session in the creek and the Taylor Swift inspired lavender field photos. Aubrey brought so much energy, confidence, and fun to her session. She started off in a khaki skirt with a black blouse, a classic and stylish look that paired perfectly with the natural tones around the mansion and bandstand. For her second outfit, she changed into her Warwick High School cheer uniform, complete with pom poms and megaphones. Her love for cheerleading and school spirit are evident in each photo.

Aubrey has been cheering for Warwick’s football team this fall, and with the team making playoffs, it’s been an exciting season for her. She’s balancing her senior year with a college-level English course and Honors classes, and she’s looking forward to prom and all the special memories ahead this spring.

When Aubrey isn’t busy with school or cheer, she’s often involved in the arts. She’s been performing in theatre for 11 years and has been in commercials, short films, and many musicals. She even auditioned for Broadway and received a callback right before the world shut down due to COVID. Her love for performing and bringing joy to others is such a big part of who she is.

Outside of performing, Aubrey works as a tour guide at Sturgis Pretzels, volunteers at youth cheer camp, and helps her mom with the elementary school musical. She also loves babysitting and working with kids, which fits perfectly with her future goal of studying pediatric occupational therapy. She’s currently considering Alvernia University, Elizabethtown College, or Central Penn College for her next chapter.

From the white pillared bandstand to the chandelier-lit greenhouse, every part of Aubrey’s session reflected her bright personality and passion for life. Her laughter was contagious, and her confidence made the evening so much fun to photograph. I loved capturing this milestone for her and celebrating all the hard work, heart, and joy that make her who she is.
