If there’s one thing I love about senior sessions, it’s how versatile and creative we can get with poses! Each session is unique, just like you, which is why I’m always experimenting with new ideas to help you shine in front of the camera. In this third installment of my favorite senior picture poses, we’re diving into even more fun options for poses to make your session unforgettable.
1. Squat Down
The “squat down” pose is edgy, fun, and works well in both urban locations like alleyways or colorful murals, and in nature with flowers around you. You can rest your arms casually on your knees, lean forward slightly, or even look off to the side for a candid feel.
2. Walking Away
I love utilizing movement during senior picture sessions. It's a way to help keep the session relaxed while also capturing a beautiful shot. Like the walk towards pose, it's a classic. You can add an over the shoulder glance or far off look to add to the pose.

3. Sitting with Knee(s) Up
This pose is casual and easy and works in so many settings. You can sit on the ground, steps, or even bring one or both knees up, giving a cool, laid-back vibe. Rest your elbow on your knee, clasp your hands, or even lean slightly for an effortless, model-off-duty look. It’s all about being relaxed and in your element!

4. Up Close and Personal
Let’s not forget some close-up shots that highlight your face, hair, and accessories. I use angles and the light to create timeless, flattering portraits you’ll love for years to come.

As a senior picture photographer, I use all of these poses (and more!) during my senior picture sessions. Are you ready to book your own session? I'm currently booking through the end of 2025. My schedule is open for the Class of 2026 who want to schedule their session this summer or fall. Let's chat.
