Last June, I had the joy of photographing Cait with her bonus daughter “A” and daughter “R” for a session that was all about fun, connection, and making memories.

If you've been following me for a bit, you'll recognize Cait. Cait and I first connected a few years ago when I was dreaming up a fantasy-inspired session. Together, we created an amazing archery and creek themed shoot in July 2024 that still stands out as one of my favorite sessions I’ve done. As our first time working together, the fantasy session was a launching point for a continued connection. Since then, we’ve also worked together for a flower mini session, branding photos, and a business retreat. Every time we plan something, it turns into something special.

For this most recent session, we wanted to do something playful, interactive, and completely centered around the girls just being themselves. We hung a white sheet, brought out washable paint, and let the creativity unfold. What followed was pure joy.

They painted a canvas together, covered each other in color, flung paint through the air, shared hugs, cuddled close, and laughed the entire time. There was no pressure to pose perfectly or stay clean; there was just space to play, connect, and enjoy the moment.

The session took place right on their property, which made it feel even more personal and relaxed. We even included some of their chickens in the beginning photos, which added such a fun and unique touch. These are the kinds of sessions I love most. The ones where you can let go, be present, and create memories together while I capture the in-between moments that matter most.

On a personal note, Cait is also my business coach and has become a wonderful friend and mentor. I’m so grateful for the many ways our paths have crossed, and I’m especially excited because we’re currently working on a creative collaboration together… more details coming soon.

For clients and potential clients, this session inspired something new. I’m considering offering Paint Session Minis featuring a white sheet backdrop and washable paint for anyone wanting a colorful, playful, one-of-a-kind photo experience. These could be perfect for families, couples, and/or friends if you want a fun, unique session.
