Golden hour, a glowing sunset, and a senior who is close with her sisters is how I’d sum up my early August senior picture session with Rhylee, a senior at Manheim Township High School. Rhylee is as kind-hearted as she is driven. She is involved in field hockey, Yearbook Club, and Mini-THON, and next year she will be heading to Providence College in Rhode Island to continue her hockey career while studying business. Outside of school activities, Rhylee loves spending time with her two dogs and is especially close with her two sisters, who I also had the pleasure of meeting during her senior session.

We met at Wildflower Lookout on a gorgeous summer evening with golden hour light washing over the fields and a stunning sunset closing out the night. The weather could not have been better. It was sunny, in the low 80s, and had just the right amount of breeze. Rhylee brought three outfits that showcased her personality and accomplishments. She started with a white blouse and jeans, switched to a t-shirt and jeans for a set of photos that included her Providence College pin, and finished the night in a long, flowing white dress that caught the light beautifully.

Before her session, Rhylee shared that she does not usually feel comfortable in front of the camera and prefers candid, natural moments. To support that, I incorporated plenty of movement like walking through the flowers, twirling in her dress, running like a Disney princess both away from and towards the camera. The movement helped bring out her personality and gave her photos an effortless, natural feel while capturing her beautiful smile and laughter.

One of my favorite parts of the evening was when Rhylee asked to include her sisters in a few photos. As the oldest of the three, it was such a sweet way to celebrate their bond during her senior year.
