In early August, I had the absolute joy of photographing my senior rep, Skye, a Class of 2026 senior from Palmyra Area High School. Skye is one of those people who is effortlessly creative. She plays five instruments (with guitar being her main instrument), records and publishes her own music on SoundCloud, and is a dedicated member of her school’s marching band, jazz band, and music programs.

Music is truly at the heart of who she is, so it was only fitting that she brought her guitar along for her senior pictures. Skye also brought her color guard rifle, adding a fun nod to her involvement in her school’s program. We headed to a beautiful flower field in Lititz, PA, and as soon as we arrived, I knew it was exactly the kind of setting Skye had described wanting for her session. It was peaceful, surrounded by nature, and we had the whole place to ourselves giving it a more secluded feel.

Because Skye is a part of my senior rep team and was in the senior rep creek session earlier this year, we already had a great flow of communication, which made the entire shoot feel relaxed and fun. She’s a natural in front of the camera, taking my posing suggestions and adding her own small movements and tweaks to make them feel authentic. I loved how she fully embraced the moment, especially with candid shots and different angles to match her style preference.

Her two outfits were the perfect reflection of her indie/boho vibe. For the first look, she wore jeans, a tank top, and combat boots which was a laid-back and cool combination that worked beautifully with her guitar. For the second, she changed into a flowy green dress and went barefoot, giving the session an earthy, free-spirited feel.

From the vibrant colors of the flowers to the music-inspired details, this session captured Skye in such a true-to-her way. When asked if she would recommend KarisaAnn Photography to others looking for a senior picture photographer, Skye said, “Yes, the photos are amazing and it feels so natural!”
