One of my favorite parts of having a senior rep team is getting to involve them in creative shoots throughout the year.

As part of my Class of 2026 Senior Rep Program, my team members have opportunities to participate in free creative sessions like this one. These shoots are purely for fun. There's no pressure, no expectations; it's simply a chance to step into a unique setting, try something different, and create images that special. Plus it's a free perk to get more photos during senior year.

Creative sessions fuel my soul and typically in my "slower" months over the winter and early spring, I like to do something that fills creative cup. So when the desire to do a vintage inspired session in a record store came to me, my senior rep team got first dips on joining in on these photos.

For this session, we headed to KT Media in Middletown. They were gracious enough to allow us to use their space with permission, and I am so thankful for local businesses who support small creatives like us. The atmosphere was perfect. Rows of records, cds, collectables, vintage tones, cozy corners, and that nostalgic, music-filled energy that instantly sets a mood.

Marissa, Arabella, and Skye joined in for this one, and I knew from the start that this session would simply be about having fun while leaning into the vintage vibe. We browsed the records. We chatted. We let the setting inspire the posing.

There is something so natural about seniors in a space where they can just exist and interact. Instead of overly structured posing, I had them flip through albums, sit on the floor surrounded by stacks of vinyl, and explore the store like they normally would. The result was a creative, slightly vintage feel that matched the character of the space perfectly.

The record store setting even influenced how I edited the images afterward. Normally my editing style leans clean and bold, but the vibe of the records, the colors, and the nostalgic feel of the space inspired me to shift the edits slightly to match. I leaned into a more vintage tone so the final images felt like they belonged right there among the vinyl sleeves and retro atmosphere.

This season of their lives feels a little bit like that record store too. Full of nostalgia, memories, and fun times. All while teetering on the edge of something new during this transitional period of life.

All three of these girls will be graduating in May and June, and it’s wild to think about how quickly senior year has flown by. It has been a busy year for each of them, packed with classes, activities, friendships, decisions about what comes next, and all the emotions that come with closing one chapter and starting another.

Creative sessions like this are one of the reasons I love my senior rep program so much. It gives us the chance to slow down during an otherwise busy year and create something meaningful, artistic, and fun together.
